Driven by a passion and conviction to contribute to a sustainable world, Matthew Finn founded envelope-e in 2022.
Matthew is a professional Façade & Structural Engineer based in Sydney, with over 13 years experience across Australia and Asia. Prior to envelope-e, Matthew led Arup’s façade team in Sydney, providing hands-on support to the specialist design and engineering team, whilst also leading a number of prestigious and landmark projects.
As a façade specialist, his expertise and experience covers all aspects of building envelopes and façade systems including curtain walling, light weight structures, structural glass walls, windows and masonry. He has a deep understanding of façade structural design, materials selection, thermal performance and waterproofing.
Managing projects from early concept design stages through to detailed design, and leading system development, engineering verification and peer reviews, has allowed him to continue to provide practical advice and innovative solutions to clients, achieving fully integrated and optimized façade solutions.

Matthew has developed a significant portfolio of projects during his career, including projects led and delivered on behalf of envelope-e, Arup, Arcadis and international façade subcontractor, Martifer.
